Editorial Guidelines
Last updated: October 2026
Looking Nice On Me exists to give women — especially women over 40 — fashion, hairstyle, makeup and nail advice they can genuinely trust and actually use. These guidelines explain how our content is created, checked and kept honest. They apply to every article on this site, without exception.
Who Creates Our Content
All content on Looking Nice On Me is written and edited by Ella Rose, the site’s founder and editor. Every published article carries Ella’s byline because she is personally responsible for it — researching it, writing it, and standing behind what it says. We do not publish anonymous content.
How an Article Is Made
- Research first. Topics are researched against current trends, established styling principles and real reader questions before writing begins.
- Written for real life. Advice must be wearable, achievable and honest about who it suits — body type, age, hair texture and budget are always considered.
- Fact-checked. Factual claims (care instructions, technique steps, product details) are reviewed for accuracy before publication.
- Proofread. Every article is carefully proofread before it goes live.
- Reviewed and updated. Published guides are revisited periodically. When styles, products or best practice change, articles are refreshed and the update is reflected on the page.
Images
Images on this site are used to illustrate the styles and techniques described in each article. Where an image is illustrative rather than a photograph of a real product or person, it is presented as inspiration for the look being discussed.
Affiliate Links & Advertising
Some articles contain affiliate links and the site displays advertising. If you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never influence which styles, products or ideas we feature, and we never accept payment in exchange for a positive recommendation. Sponsored content, if ever published, will always be clearly labelled as sponsored.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. If you spot an error in any article, please tell us via the Contact page or at lookingniceonme@gmail.com. Confirmed errors are corrected promptly, and significant corrections are noted on the article.
Our Promise
No advice that assumes everyone is twenty-two. No rules about what you are “too old” for. Just honest, checked, genuinely useful style help — from a real editor who signs her name to it.
